To talk about and watch episodes of various anime, Computer science teacher Lois Davis and students gather every Thursday in room E139 to appreciate the Japanese animations.

After school at around 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. students come to the class to discuss different animes of all kinds, and watch their weekly anime, which they have already picked.

“We pick a series at the beginning of the year, everyone putting in their ideas, and then we vote on which we want to watch, and pick a certain number of episodes to watch,” Davis said.

Other than watching their anime, students also participate in trade shows– dressing up like characters from animes they choose from. In these shows, they can buy new outfits, have competitions for best costume, and more. Students usually go to trade shows in the fall. There are more trade shows in the spring, but not as many students visit the spring shows.

The club currently has around 25 members, which includes a president and a vice president.

Last week’s president was junior Kristen Leinen, and their vice president was junior Kayla Bates.

Students picked the room themselves for the utilization of the computers and projectors in the room.

The anime they watched last week was Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
